Purpose: Foundation Academies exists to close the opportunity gap for youth in our community of Trenton, NJ. Dismantling systemic injustice requires a strong team of highly talented people who have the skills, capacity, and passion our scholars deserve. Through this summer program we want to empower and prepare incoming 9th graders for a successful transition into high school. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that cultivates academic excellence, personal growth, and the development of essential skills. Through engaging activities, mentorship, and a focus on building strong foundations, we aim to inspire passion for lifelong learning in every student.

Reports to: Vianney Anzures 

Accountable: 

Deliver engaging and interactive lessons. Provide academic support to students. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support students' social and emotional well-being. Conduct one-on-one sessions with students as needed. Collaborate with other teachers to address individual student needs.

Curriculum Development:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with program goals and objectives.
• Integrate interactive and engaging teaching strategies to enhance student learning and participation.

Subject Expertise:

• Demonstrate expertise in the subject area, providing clear and accurate explanations of concepts.
• Foster a positive attitude towards the subject, encouraging students to develop an interest in the topic.

Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
• Offer guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
• Identify and address individual student needs, fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.

Student Engagement:

• Implement interactive activities and projects to keep students engaged and motivated.
• Encourage student participation through discussions, group work, and hands-on learning experiences.

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Educational Background- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Teaching certification or licensure in the relevant subject area.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in the subject matter being taught.
• Previous experience in teaching, preferably at the high school level
• Experience in working with diverse student populations.
