Summary

Summer Academy is committed to fostering an environment where all students think both critically and analytically. The role of the Summer Academy Teacher is to provide students instruction in reading and math, as well as the opportunity for some enrichment activities! Teachers will use data from end-of-year i-ready diagnostics to plan their instruction. Students spend the majority of time in small groups with teachers, with time for independent work and academic games. Students and teachers will monitor progress each day AND formally at the end of the program.

Requirements

Essential Duties

• Perform daily teaching support tasks
• Collect student data and progress monitoring of summer academy students
• Work with the Culture Lead and Academic Lead to enhance their teaching practices
• Work collaboratively with other summer academy teachers and staff
• Provide coverage if necessary
• Regularly and proactively updating families about student progress

Qualifications

• Must work in-person during all summer school dates

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-3:30pm
• Salary: $25 per hour
