School Psychologist

Location:Remote Office 

Job Definition: Under the general supervision of Distance Learning Solutions, Inc., the employee performs a variety of tasks, with major responsibility being that of administering special educational evaluations and related educational services for families and students participating in a virtual schooling program.

Reports to: Program Directors of Distance Learning Solutions, Inc.

Primary Functions:

We have an opening for an Online School Psychologist (Remote; Virtual) for the 2024-2025 school year. In this role, you will:

  • Review, evaluate, and recommend assessment instruments
  • Use a web-based system to administer and interpret tests to evaluate intellectual, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and/or social/emotional behaviors
  • Observe referred students in home or community environments via video or videoconference
  • Participate in educational planning, referral, eligibility, and IEP meetings.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Programs, as needed or requested
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments, and participate in manifestation determination meetings and behavioral intervention development as needed or requested
  • Communicate, collaborate, and confer with general and special education program staff, parents, and students to determine the student's current level of performance, developmental history, recommended accommodations and modifications, etc.
  • Provide direct service and consultation to students and parents related to behavioral and social/emotional needs and goals per student’s IEP
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations
  • Communicate professionally via email, phone, and videoconferencing
  • Participate in staff development activities, staff meetings, and individual meetings with the supervisor
  • Adhere to the policies of the Fossil Distance Learning Program and procedures of the special education department
  • Submit monthly documentation for mileage and appointments (when applicable)
  • Contribute to the continuous innovation that is required of a unique distance learning program
  • Use a variety of office equipment, including computers, scanners and printers, and computer software and web applications
  • Fulfill other duties as assumed or as assigned by the supervisor
  • Demonstrate ownership and alignment with company quality standards when working with students, parents, colleagues, or others
  • Maintain a courteous and positive demeanor in every interaction when responding to a wide range of inquiries from students, guardians, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with peers and administrators in a professional, positive, and student-focused manner
  • Maintain a strong and supportive company culture by supporting company recruitment, retention, and community outreach goals
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Master's degree in School Psychology required
  • Current Oregon School Psychologist License

Experience:

  • One year of successful experience as a school psychologist OR completion of one-year internship.
  • Three years experience, preferred

Other minimum qualifications:

  • Must have a dedicated workspace free from distractions with consistent and reliable high-speed internet access for teleconferencing
  • Operational knowledge of the Internet and Web-related technologies
  • At least three (3) years of experience is preferred;
  • At least two (2) years of online experience is preferred;
  • Able to adequately meet legal requirements for performing this position;
  • Ability to pass required background checks
  • Obtain CPR and First Aid certification 
  • Candidates must live in the state of Oregon to be considered for this position.

Additional Experience:

Demonstrated competency through college preparation, practicum and internship, and/or experience in school psychology, and professional development. 

 

Salary and Benefits: DOE

  1. Typical starting salary is $80,340.00
  2. Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. will pay 100% family premium for family Major Medical, Dental, and Vision
  3. Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. is not a PERS employer but contributes a % of salary to the 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

This job requires sitting or standing at a workstation for most of the day. 

  • Location: Remote home office
  • Frequency of travel: Occasional travel may be required to meetings, trainings, and conferences; assigned locations will vary and may require overnight stays
  • Light physical activities and efforts required working in an office environment
