FOSS RECYCLING is Hiring a Maintenance Worker (Raleigh, NC) Near Raleigh, NC

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our team at Foss Recycling, a leading metal recycling facility. This position is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of our metal shredding equipment and related machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and participating in the repair of our recycling machinery to maintain continuous production and minimize downtime.

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery, including shredder, conveyors, and sorting machines, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems, diagnosing breakdowns and ensuring timely solutions.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty machine parts.
  • Assist in the installation of new plant equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to facilitate efficient operations.
  • Manage preventive maintenance for shredding and processing equipment to reduce downtime and maintain safety standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance worker or in a similar role, ideally in a heavy industrial or recycling environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
  • Welding skills and experience with metal fabrication are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety best practices.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
