The Electrical Apprentice reports to the Electrical Foreman and department head. The primary responsibilities for this position are assisting in performing service, repairs, and installations of electrical systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Aids in helping install equipment, running conduit, and pulling wire.
  • Interacts with clients in the field to ensure the work is completed correctly.
  • Aids in troubleshooting and completing repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Has attention to detail.
  • Assists with any tasks asked of by the technician or foreman.

Electrician Apprentice Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in construction 
  • A relevant license and certification or the ability to get one
  • Practical experience working with electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • A valid driver's license or reliable transport.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in residential systems and commercial and industrial is a huge plus.
  • Demonstrate ability to use electrical hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures, legal regulations, and guidelines.
  • Excellent physical condition and flexibility to potentially work long shifts and work in attics and crawl spaces.
  • Great attention to detail, organizational skills, and a willingness to progress in the trade

Compensation $18 - $22/hour

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee must frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee most often stands for 8 hours, walk, sit, climb stairs, or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must withstand working in temperatures that may exceed 100 degrees. The employee will need to be able to walk over 1 mile in a day.
