Join our team as a Dispatcher and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation processes. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating shipments, communicating with drivers and customers, and maintaining accurate records. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations for material deliveries and/or pick-ups.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the transportation process
-Schedule preventative maintenance on company trucks
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
-Review resumes and interview applicants for open driver positions as needed
Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in dispatching or logistics preferred
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Phone etiquette and customer service experience is essential
- Understanding of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is beneficial
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word
