Vice President, Health, Safety & Environment (Houston, TX)

While building a culture of health, safety, environment, and compliance, the Vice President, Health, Safety, & Environment is responsible for the overall improvement, enhancement, and maintenance of an effective Environmental Health and Safety program and management system for the organization and its projects. Our mission is dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations through continuous interaction and improvement with our customers and employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·Leading the HSE program, developing strategic approaches to stakeholder engagement, all permitting and reporting activities toward successful outcomes.

·Accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing/day-to-day communication of health and safety hazards, controls, environmental matters, and companywide HSE training program.

·Responsible for compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies related to the execution of business endeavors.

·Leads HSE and operations management teams through changes in HSE, new compliance requirements and management system.

·Oversees HSE programs and projects addressing applicable HSE regulations and other compliance requirements.

·Leads and expands HSE training program for all corporate and field team members.

·Lead company representative with regard to regulatory matters and interaction with external agencies.

·Directs team of HSE personnel to set and implement plans that increase managers' and employees' awareness, knowledge, skills, and commitment to HSE.

·Responsible for HSE reviews, compliance reviews, and assurance activities to ensure corrective actions are acted on, tracked, and followed through as required.

·Manages HSE and compliance requests from the senior leadership team and Board of Directors including responsibilities in due diligence projects pertaining to mergers and acquisitions.

·Responsible for ensuring the creation and maintenance of critical processes and that stakeholders institutionalize these into their day-to-day business functions with aspirations for continuous improvement.

·Organizes QA/QC audits and processes feedback from those audits.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

Qualifications

·Certified Safety professional (CSP) designation preferred, equivalency of experience or education to be considered.

Experience

·15 years of progressive HSE experience most recently as HSE VP, director, or equivalent HSE leadership role.

·Energy sector experience considered valuable, Pipeline and facilities construction focused.

·Familiarity with OQ processes and tools.

·Familiarity with progressive safety theories and practices is considered an asset.

Skills and Knowledge

·Highly motivated hands-on executive with leadership experience in a sophisticated HSE organization.

·Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.

·Excellent internal leadership skills, and the ability to translate business strategy into processes, systems, and operations enable consistently strong HSE performance.

·Must be a team player with the ability to lead, delegate, facilitate the flow of work, and motivate.

·Excellent people skills and effective presentation/training/facilitation skills.

·Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure.

·Strategic planning, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills.

·Self-starter, with an ability to work with minimal supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is office-based and works in an office environment. Location to be disclosed during interview stage. Travel to project sites is required
