The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County provides opportunities for people to connect with nature. We offer to the public 60 forest preserves, 145 miles of trails, 47 miles of rivers and streams, and 6 nature and cultural centers. We have 6 million visitors each year.

The District's mission is, "to acquire and hold lands containing forests, prairies, wetlands and associated plant communities or lands capable of being restored to such natural conditions for the purpose of protecting and preserving the flora, fauna and scenic beauty for the education, pleasure and recreation of its citizens.

Job Summary

This position performs cleaning and basic maintenance on golf course buildings and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain entryways, floors, sidewalks, tables, shelving, countertops, and other surfaces using hand tools, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning chemicals.• Assist restaurant service staff with setting and clearing tables.• Notify management of any maintenance issues.• Change garbage cans and empty recycling bins.• Assist with setup for special events.• Assist restaurant kitchen staff with cleaning and routine maintenance of kitchen equipment.• Clean, sanitize, and deodorize restrooms. Replenish restroom supplies.• Perform basic maintenance tasks including changing lightbulbs, hanging pictures, and cleaning sink traps.• Maintain inventory of custodial and miscellaneous supplies.• Assist in receiving food and supply deliveries.• Operation of golf carts for transportation and cleaning.• Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits; Become familiar with and observe all applicable safety rules, policies, and work procedures; Follow all safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the District's safety and risk management program; Keep work area clean, orderly, and free of hazards; Immediately report all unsafe conditions and incidents.• Maintain a supportive working environment and demonstrate a desire to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

• 17 years of age at time of hire.• 1 year of experience as a custodian or busser in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or golf environment.• Valid Driver's License in good standing.• Must have and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).• Must have and maintain Illinois Food Handler Training and Certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.• Knowledge of restaurant sanitation standards and food safety procedures.• Familiarity with basic cleaning equipment.

Schedule: Variable schedule during the golf season based on business needs, may include weekdays and/or weekends.

Pay: $15.00 - 18.00 per hour.

Work Environment: Fast-paced restaurant setting and golf course. This position requires working indoors and outdoors during appropriate seasons and all weather conditions. In this position, there is exposure to slippery floors, operating golf carts, insects, and cleaning chemicals.

Location: The Greenway Tap Restaurant at the Preserve at Oak Meadows Golf Course in Addison, IL.
