Surgery Center in Templeton is seeking a full time Surgery Scheduler.

Job Summary

The Surgery Scheduler schedules all surgical procedures and assures that all of the appropriate authorizations and clinical and insurance coding information is collected prior to surgery. Scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures from physician offices and schedules the procedure according to established guidelines. Scheduler provides accurate information and maintains open communication with hospital and physician offices regarding schedule changes.

Duties

1. Schedules surgery procedures using eCW and Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

2. Informs patients and any relevant third party through instructions about “things to do” before and after surgeries.

3. Receive all needed medical records and history from patients.

4. Make reservations for surgeries and schedule based on the availability of the surgeon and the medical condition of patients.

5. Order patients’ test results and assess information from the report to determine if a patient is ready for surgery.

6. Collect, file and organize pre and post operational data for reference.

7. Answer the phones in a professional and courteous manner. Respond to calls, emails, and questions that patients might have.

8. Set surgical planning, pre-op and post-surgical appointments with doctors.

9. Completes post-op data entry in a timely and accurate manner.

10. Assist the Director of Nursing in managing medical supplies and surgical gases inventory.

Requirements

1. Must have experience in Word and Excel.

2. Minimum 1-2 years in medical offices or 3 years customer service.

3. Experience in EMR or electronic scheduling.

4. Good phone/people skills.

5. Motivated and able to work on their own without direction.

6. Must be able to problem solve before asking for help.

7. Must be organized.'
