Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Route Driver to join our team. As a Route Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products to our customers in a timely and efficient manner. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement.
Duties:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to deliver products to designated locations
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and unload products from the vehicle using appropriate equipment
- Communicate with customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Collect payments from customers and provide receipts as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist with inventory management as needed
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving or route driving preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic math skills for handling payments and maintaining records
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly throughout the day
- Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products to customers
- Familiarity with local roads and routes in the area
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
