Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach. Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.

Responsibilities

The Guest Service Specialist is responsible for providing courteous and competent services to ensure all guests requests are provided in a timely and efficient manner.

 Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Answer and process all guest requests, questions, or concerns via telephone, email, chat, and mobile communication device.
  • Log/dispatch all guest requests or issues into HotSOS or any other hotel provided software.
  • Contact appropriate individual or department (e.g., Bellperson, Housekeeping) as necessary to handle guest call, request, or issue, and follow up with guest to ensure their request has been resolved to their satisfaction.
  • Provide information to guests about room features, property amenities, and local areas of interest.
  • Assist guests with accessing the internet and guestroom entertainment.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs with a high level of customer service.
  • Knowledge of current rates, marketing specials, resort operations and other information necessary to answer guest inquiries.
  • Knowledge of all venues, operations, events, specials, hours of operations and any other relevant information to answer inquiries.
  • Monitor and confirm pre-assigned arrivals for various types of confirmed accommodations and special requests. Confirm and monitor "day of arrivals" and queued reservations.
  • Assist with Key Pick-up Room duties when necessary.
  • Prepare to handle high volume of guests’ interactions over the phone and/or text messaging system in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work in an operation that covers a 24-hour period which includes weekends and holidays and day, evening, overnight shifts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Ability to operate computerized hotel system software programs.
    • Ability to perform basic math skills.
    • Ability to operate office equipment. (i.e., copier, and telephone)
    • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, staff, and management.
    • Well organized and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.

    PREFERRED:

    • High school education or equivalent. College degree preferred.
    • Prior experience in a quality luxury hotel brand
    • Fluency in a second language other than English
    • Prior experience with HotSOS, Zingle, Alice, MS Shift and Opera or similar Property Management System

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    High school education or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree or four years relevant education and experience preferred. Minimum of three years’ experience supervising a large resort spa preferred.
