POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Facilities will develop strategy, guidance, and leadership, ensuring property and departmental goals are achieved at the highest level of expectation. This role is required to manage and maintain high-performing teams, budgets, capital plans, and efficiencies, help coordinate design and operational planning, and create a culture of teamwork and camaraderie while maintaining the entire property, exceeding service goal expectations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Prepare bids, specifications, and coordinates capital projects requiring construction, maintenance services, and installment of equipment
  • Continually monitor the project and identify any potential increase in cost or changes in the schedule and remedy as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals (budget spreadsheets, scope qualifications, schedule, project specific documents for presentation, etc.)
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Maintain and manage a world class preventative maintenance program by inspecting, monitoring, and documenting equipment and systems, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, water, refrigeration, and other integrated systems involved in daily operations 
  • Works well with executives and understands the sense of urgency, removing obstacles, and daily challenges while getting to YES
  • Oversees the budgets and forecasting for their specific function of the department
  • Supports the hiring process, identifies competencies and established criteria to hire, train, develop, and organize motivated highly qualified Team Members
  • Develop RFP’s and oversee comprehensive vendor contracts and relationships required to provide quality products and services at a fair price. You will be required to have strong negotiation skills. 
  • Work well with Human Resources to resolve employee conflicts, issue disciplinary action, and documentation
  • Perform all duties assigned to support the efficient operation of the department
  • Ensure OSHA guidelines are consistently met and followed, and all violations or concerns are addressed timely with necessary resolutions
  • Create an environment where Team Members feel empowered to report potential violations and/or misconduct
  • Understand health department requirements and inspection concerns making compliance
  • Ensure that quality services and controls conform to established standards
  • Responsible for the administration and control of preventive maintenance program
  • Ensure that the entire Engineering Department completely understands the operation of the Fire/Life Safety System
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Six (6) years’ prior experience in Facilities/Engineering for a large-scale resort and casino while in a leadership position
  • Journey-level experience in a Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) -related craft/trade; thorough comprehension of MEP trades/systems
  • B6 or B1 General Contractors License for Nevada preferred
  • Proven experience/knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Must display and maintain a sense of urgency regarding all Casino business
  • Knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
  • Display advanced knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programs
  • Knowledge of CHP (Combined Heat and Power) systems
  • Ability to actively influence and drive collaboration with individuals or groups at various levels within and outside of the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry Statutes and Regulations
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high quality service levels
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job supervises positions including but not limited to managers, engineers, laborers, and dispatchers.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
