Focus on the Family is Hiring a Project Manager 2 - IT PMO Near Colorado, CO

The Project Manager 2 – IT PMO position exists to provide strong project leadership and play a role in definition, coordination, and delivery of the technical aspects of Focus on the Family Information Technology initiatives. These initiatives, with varied complexities ranging from small to complex large-scale projects, will require work with engineers, contractors, IT personnel, online editors, and many other roles throughout the ministry to ensure that all the project team members have a complete understanding of the customers’ project needs. This position is responsible to be aware of customer expectations, overall direction of the project, requirements, scope, tasks, resources, timeline, etc. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Ensures the right people are doing the right work at the right time Ensures projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget Coordinates internal and external resources for the flawless execution of projects Develops project plans--project charters, data flow/process flow charts/relationship diagrams, communication matrix, risk assessments, work breakdown structures, timelines and any other template documents required for projects Manages ministry projects based on Focus on the Family’s software development life cycle (SDLC) process and gathers appropriate signoffs on project control documents Acts as a "quarterback," by creating appropriate individual/team involvement and developing strong/effective relationships Works with other Project Managers and IT management to analyze project plans for realistic objectives, scope, and process Identifies and manages to project milestones Identifies and mitigates items impacting successful delivery. This could include risks, timelines, budget, quality, etc. Builds and maintains customer relationships, monitoring customer perceptions of the deliverables, and providing customers with education and options when challenges arise during the project Monitors, tracks, and manages all actual results against baseline plan Owns the process of tracking and communicating issues, risks, and action items Is actively involved in risk avoidance, including the updating templates regularly with detailed mitigation and contingency plans Is responsible for up-to-date weekly communications of project status to Project Management Manager, Relationship Management, Project Owner, and project stakeholders Manages post-project activities including project assessment and documentation (e.g., project debriefs, and customer satisfaction surveys) Provides and implements suggestions to improve overall Project Management processes to make each phase of the project more efficient Tracks and reports time and progress against project plan milestones Adheres to procedures for Incident Management, Problem Management, Release Management, Service Level Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Change Management and Configuration Management Other Duties/Responsibilities: Perform all other duties as assigned Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Office environment Job Qualifications/RequirementsCharacter/Spiritual: Exemplifies Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us...”Pursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayerPrays personally for Focus on the Family’s staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayerEngages in Christian ministryDemonstrates behaviors aligned with FOF core values Personal Characteristics: Maintains a high degree of integrity and ethical behavior in all business activities and decisions; lives with integrity derived from biblical values and demonstrates standards of conduct that meet or exceed company or legal requirements Self-motivated; demonstrates the ability to get the job done, even if it means working outside the accepted channels Diplomatic; articulate; decisive; approachable; flexible; concern for long-term effectiveness Positive and encouraging attitude with ability to motivate/encourage peers Team player; trustworthy; reliable Coachable, able to redirect work priorities and assignments as needed Creative thinker, effective problem-solver Knowledge/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information systems or equivalent experience/certifications 4-6 years project management experience in the Internet/Intranet/IT industry to include diverse management/delivery of projects and services Knowledge of waterfall and Agile project management methodologies Formal training in scope management, risk management, advanced scheduling, and software quality best practices Competency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Power Point, Visio, Internet Browsers PMP Certified through PMI, preferred Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts: Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages Ability to resolve conflicts, disagreements, and misunderstandings Skilled communicator and negotiator Excellent organizational and administrative skills Viewed as an emerging leader within IT and across the ministry A strong team player Flexibility and adaptability to change Ability to encourage and motivate personnel Strong attention to detail Ability to assemble clear, concise, and accurate project documentation Lead project teams to successful project completion Ability to work autonomously and with little supervision Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously Process-thinking skills Must be able to strategically manage situations that may unexpectedly change or evolve during the project or in the customer relationship. Maintain a cool and calm demeanor under pressure Able to represent the IT department in a professional and Christ-like manner in all dealings with our Ministry customers and external partners Salary Range: $81,120 to $94,120/yr Focus on the Family puts a high value on our team members and offers a unique benefit package.
