Focus on the Family is Hiring a Fulfillment Lead - Warehouse and Internal Services Near Colorado, CO

The Fulfillment lead position exists to provide immediate support, prioritization, and labor to the fulfillment team, also serves in a backup capacity to Internal Services on an as needed basis. Requires knowledge and skill set to handle all fulfillment, shipping and record keeping responsibilities, and will be the considered the functional expert in the area. Duties will include estimating, packaging, and providing Domestic/International transportation services for all small and large internal ministry initiatives. Various PC applications including third party shipping software, Great Plains - ERP, MS Office, and various production related equipment such as electric pallet jacks, meter machines and pallet wrappers will be used. This position will also take on the leadership of small projects and direct the labor of teammates, as necessary.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes custom TOPdesk interface to acknowledge, print and pack daily ministry order requests
  • Utilizes Great Plains system to access ministry sales requests and produce picking tickets
  • Utilizes e-commerce site “Big Commerce” to access, acknowledge, print, and pack daily orders from third party entity to generate ministry revenue
  • Utilizes electronic transmissions to obtain, print and pack orders for ministry tenants, acting as a 3PL to generate ministry revenue
  • Accesses special Teams spreadsheet to acknowledge, print and pack orders necessary to support Focus Marriage Institute endeavors located in several states
  • Uses ISBN and/or other sku based item codes along with a rack/bay/bin location system to pick requested in-house products
  • Packages requested product in various container types to assure reasonable protection for items that range in value from low cost to potentially thousands of dollars
  • Assists with logistic support via freight trucking LTL or FTL for all Focus on the Family events across the country
  • Can create custom boxes or provide other imaginative solutions to non-standard item requests
  • Is available to receive and process non-system-based requests with accompanying product
  • Is capable of providing personal packing and shipping services to ministry employees
  • Authority to pull locked down but active SKU’s directly from warehouse inventory without supervision
  • Monitors shipping supplies and works with buyer to replenish
Small Parcel Shipping:
  • Understands US carrier zones to determine best value to transit ratio
  • Correctly ties and inputs department GL to shipping commodity
  • Provides in system electronic tracking acknowledgments as necessary
  • Utilizes third party shipping software to input collected data and produce labels
  • Organizes outbound packages by service level to ensure they are matched with the proper carrier pickup vehicles
  • Fills out shipping paperwork for each order so that all departments, tenants, and personal packages are accounted for and charged through finance
  • If necessary, can utilize ministry cargo van to transport outbound packages to nearest carrier service center
Large Order Fulfillment/Shipping:
  • Processes orders that will require bulk pallet load shipping for offsite events in hotels and/or convention center venues
  • Must be fully aware of specified delivery time frames and must select appropriate carrier to work within time constraints
  • Works with LTL/FTL vendors to obtain shipping estimates based on dimensional freight quotes or weight to volume NMFC codes
  • Stacks items onto pallet in a safe, organized, and stable manner
  • Weighs, and then wraps pallets with mechanized pallet wrapper (training required)
  • Determines the destination dock availability, liftgate needs and or inside delivery needs, receiving hours, destination contacts and commercial values
  • Arranges pickup, produces motor carrier bill of lading and stages for pickup
Internal Services Backup Support:
  • Can provide departmental mail sorting services
  • Can provide internal mail and package delivery services to Focus on the Family departments as well as our third-party tenants
  • Can independently run the live postage metering machine
  • Can provide mail delivery services to local USPS facilities
Team Responsibilities:
  • Develops ideas and suggestions toward continuous process improvement; takes personal responsibility for quality of the team's results
  • Takes personal responsibility for housekeeping and safety within the team's work area
  • Contributes toward meeting predetermined performance objectives
  • Remains flexible and willing to work anywhere with any team member when there is a need
  • Remains dependable and punctual, has a good attendance record
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
  • All In Plant Staff has cross train opportunities and are expected to engage in non-specialized work in other areas. This includes shipping, manufacturing, Internal Services and Warehouse
  • Can lead small projects as assigned by the Manager
  • Works with the manger on training and team development as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam
  • Must be willing and able to drive cargo van
  • Must be able to work outside in winter, summer, or rainy conditions on a limited basis as necessary
  • Noise from various mail/material-handling machines
  • Fumes from forklift exhaust
  • Dust associated with mail and packing materials
  • Lifting and carrying of material up to 60 pounds
  • Must be able to push/pull 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand 6 - 8 hours/day
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, and reach above head
  • Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity
  • Must be able to hear alarms/phone/normal speaking voice

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 - 4 years of material handling experience
  • Knowledge of software applications including, MS Dynamics GP Receiving, MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Pay Range: $18.00 to $21.00/hr
