Job Description:

Are you looking for a position where you can make an impact? F. McConnell and Sons, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist. This role provides full cycle recruiting and hands-on generalist support, serving as first point of contact to employees and managers related to HR needs. This position performs work on-site.

Specific Duties:

  • Conduct full cycle recruiting working closely with the hiring team; review job description, source candidates, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and ensure a smooth offer and onboarding process. Conducts new employee orientation.
  • Primary responsibility for administering company benefit programs. Conducts benefits orientation for new employees and processes all related paperwork. Coordinate, distribute, and administer annual open enrollment as directed.
  • Responsible for processing employee changes (moves, promotions, etc.).
  • Primary responsibility for maintaining complete and accurate employee personnel files.
  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date job descriptions for all positions within company.
  • Assist with supporting employees through a variety of activities including time away from work administration, FMLA tracking, leave of absences, coordinating exit process, benefit issues, employee data changes, etc.
  • Evaluate and improve current HR processes to ensure maximum service delivery and improved operational effectiveness.
  • Resolve associate concerns in a timely manner and in a way that builds trust and credibility.
  • Recommend creative ways to improve the employee experience and enhance a high-performance, results oriented culture.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Must have 3 years of proven experience as a recruiter or in a similar role
  • PHR certification preferred, but not required
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport and establish relationships with hiring managers and candidates
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • Acts with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
