ROLE SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Manager oversees the daily activities of the Oil, Flower Pre-Roll, Kitchen and Labeling teams. Ensures adequate levels of material and products have been packaged correctly. The Manufacturing Manager ensures that manufacturing equipment and tools function properly and works to continuously improve overall equipment efficiency. The duties of the role include building production schedules based off the demand planning from the Chief Revenue Officer, making sure production processes stay within budgets and deadlines and reviewing the productivity of an organization’s manufacturing equipment. The Manufacturing Manager will continuously review all the operational processes, systems, assets, and methodologies used in their department and will develop a strategic and tactical operational plan, which aligns with the objectives and strategies of the Company. This role will also work with the Facility Manager and Director of Operations to evaluate headcount budgets and offer automation suggestions where applicable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and hold the team accountable to relevant KPI’s with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations and performance of the packaging department.
  • Supervise and train packaging Tech3s and Tech 2s to ensure they maintain adequate staffing and appropriate workflows to accomplish goals.
  • Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff
  • Direct and implement SOPs, methods, policies, objectives to advance their department, and ensure continuing operations to increase productivity and guarantee regulatory compliance.
  • Execute the production and packaging schedule from the SNOPs and Monthly Production Plan.
  • Maintain product inventory levels based on sales forecast and production schedules.
  • Ensure quality, safety, GMPs and ISO standards are followed.
  • Hold teams accountable for accurate recordkeeping and data collection for regulatory and GMP compliance.
  • Manage a team in a manufacturing setting and the ability to prioritize tasks and re-evaluate as situations change.
  • Plan and prioritize daily activities to accomplish the packaging goals established by the Production Manager.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies to include conducting interviews, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, issuing incentive and disciplinary action, and addressing and resolving problems, to create a culture of engagement and high-performance.
  • Must regularly operate packaging, labeling, and filling machinery, a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery.
  • Performs audits to ensure compliance to all processes.
  • Oversee the development of associates by ensuring they are cross trained with ability to support other team members, understand SOP’s, department safety measures and total operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical, problem solving, math skills and computer skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, MS Outlook
  • Able to accurately follow multi-layered written/oral instructions.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, manufacturing, or supply chain related field.

5 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Will accept an Associate Degree in a related field coupled with the right amount of work experience.

Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Previous Cannabis experience a plus

PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.

Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.

Must pass a drug screening.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has supervisory responsibility of the Post Harvest, Flower and Oil Packaging, Pre-Roll and Kitchen teams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in cultivation and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses cultivation processing equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The company will ask you to help in other departments depending on company needs. This means that you may not always work in the department that you were hired, teamwork and getting product out to patients is the goal and this means helping where you are needed is crucial to your success as well as the company’s success.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. {Must be able to individually lift to 25 lbs}. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
