Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Maintains all patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders
• Greets patients and other visitors, answers, and routes calls to appropriate staff.
• Obtains and verifies patient insurance information, to include pre-certifications and pre-authorization for services and enters data in appropriate databases.
• Coordinates with managers and doctors to maximize the daily patient census.
• Collects and enters patient payments in databases.
• Be a team player in actively participating in staff meetings to support key functions within the Clinic.
• Ability to work with others and in a team environment
• Organizational Skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Familiarity with eCW is plus though training can be provided
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent customer, interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing
• Organization and time-management skills
• Basic math skills
• Attention to details
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple projects at the same time

Required Education, Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); Associate’s degree preferred
• Two or more years of medical office administration experience and Insurance Verification.
