Collections-Collector
To preserve the credit union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contacts delinquent accounts by phone and mail, takes appropriate action to bring current. Performs outbound and inbound calls on delinquent loans, credit cards and negative share accounts.
• Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful.
• Maintains accurate files and reports on all collection activity.
• Testifies at legal proceedings as required. Informs management of trends in loan underwriting
• contributing delinquent/charged-off loans.
• To identify and inform management of potential underwriting problems.
• All employees are made aware of their responsibilities under the BSA/CIP/OFAC regulations with continuing training, to ensure that they adhere to our internal policy and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: A high school education or GED.
