Job Description:

We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Services Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Student Services Specialist, you will serve as students' central point of contact, providing comprehensive support and guidance to enhance their academic experience and ensure their success. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Engage with students daily, both in-person and through various communication channels, to address inquiries, provide information, and offer guidance on academic programs, policies, procedures, and campus resources.
  • Enrollment Assistance: Assist students in the enrollment process, including helping them navigate registration, course selection, and understanding prerequisites while ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines.
  • Graduation Process: Collaborate with students to facilitate the graduation process, including reviewing degree requirements, tracking progress, and guiding them through necessary steps for commencement.
  • Phone and Email Communication: Professionally and effectively manage incoming calls and emails, promptly addressing student inquiries and providing accurate information or directing them to appropriate resources.
  • Campus Resource Navigation: Familiarize students with campus resources, services, and facilities, helping them access academic advising, tutoring, counseling, and other support services as needed.
  • Document Management: Maintain accurate and organized student records, documentation, and databases related to student interactions and services.
  • Events and Workshops: Assist in planning and executing student-focused events, workshops, and orientations that contribute to student engagement, retention, and success.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty members, and other campus departments to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to student support.
  • Data Reporting: Compile and analyze student inquiries, trends, and service utilization data to contribute to process improvement and informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Customer-Service Oriented: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for helping students and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations, think critically, and provide practical solutions to student inquiries and challenges.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with technology and proficient in using office software, databases, and communication tools.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing processes, policies, and technologies.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in higher education, particularly in student services, admissions, or advising.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and CRM tools.
  • Previous customer service experience.
