Position Summary

The HR Generalist will work as a member of the HR team and in supporting our best resource – our people! This position will be the first point of contact for the majority of our employees and external partners on HR related queries. Other responsibilities are handling the majority of employee documentation including, recruitment paperwork, background checks, and onboarding. This position requires the ability to rapidly react to and resolve issues and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

The HR Generalist will also be responsible for fostering and maintaining internal relationships, assist our employees and leaders through HR related processes and procedures while also assisting in organizational effectiveness efforts.

In this role, the HR Generalist will deliver full life-cycle HR solutions in a number of key areas, such as administrative tasks, new hire onboarding, benefits management, performance management, training and development and other general supporting functions. The HR Generalist will also work collaboratively with the HR Business Partners and all levels of management to implement HR policies, practices and procedures as assigned.

Responsibilities/Performance Measures:

  • Provide internal support and partnership to the HR team
  • Provides timely responses to inquiries from HR partners across the organization.
  • The forming and maintaining of compliant company records, to include personnel records, training records, I-9’s, eVerify, etc.
  • Update internal databases (e.g. record sick or maternity leave)
  • Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)
  • Provide support and guidance to employees on various matters, including benefits, payroll, policies and procedures
  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)
  • Manage a high volume email in-box, acting as the primary point of contact responsible for triaging, responding to, and resolving HR-related emails and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event)
  • Provide creative ideas to help implement/update current processes
  • Monitor and track all employee-call-ins either by phone or email
  • Monitor and update company policies and procedures
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Employee and Community Relations/Communication:

  • Maintain employee bulletin boards (electronic and physical)
  • Assist in local community events and challenges
  • Helps plan, organizes and coordinates company events – employee luncheons, holiday celebrations, etc.
  • Monitor service anniversaries and celebrations and coordinates with our vendors
  • Order and maintain company SWAG
  • Chair one of our Employee Engagement sub Committees, leading groups of employees to make affective and impactful changes

Learning and Development:

  • Coordination of company compliance training
  • Create and maintain new hire packets and process paperwork
  • Assist with annual trainings sessions around open benefits enrollment

Candidate Requirements/Specifications:

  • 2 years in Business or Human Resources related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws related to HR and Safety policies and practices
  • Exceptional organization and time-management skills with strong adherence to deadlines
  • Discretion and confidentiality are a must
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with multiple levels of management
  • Proficient in computer applications to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to pivot focus effectively in response to business needs
