Under occasional supervision, must be mentally and physically capable of serving and executing documents involving court actions, and performs other court duties as directed. Operates a variety of equipment including a PC workstation, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, vehicle, etc. Reports to the Constable III.• Serves various court documents, including summons and complaints, claims and delivery, warrants, eviction notices, orders and rules, juror summons and witness summons, at residences and places of business. Advises the public regarding Magistrate’s Court procedures.
• Receives and responds to complaints from the public and local merchants.
• Provides office security.
• Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits a variety of documents including incident reports, use of force forms, daily reports, proof of service reports, arrest forms, maintenance forms, memos, etc.
• Operates a variety of equipment, such as a typewriter, PC workstation, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, vehicle, etc.
• Interacts and communicates with departmental supervisors and employees, County department Directors, managers and employees, defendants, plaintiffs, jurors, attorneys, judges, court personnel, medical personnel and the general public.
• Provides court security.
• Transports inmates to and from court as necessary.
• Performs related duties as required.Requires a high school diploma and five to eleven months of general work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid S. C. driver’s license with a good driving history. Must complete training requirement. And be certified by the S. C. Law Enforcement Division. Must be able to maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms.
A CERTIFIED TEN-YEAR DRIVING HISTORY MUST BE PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW.
