Job Mission:
The Assistant Store Manager position will assist the Regional Director of Retail in all day-to-day dispensary activities. In coordination with the leadership team, the Assistant Store Manager is an integral part of the management of the dispensary staff. The employee in this role is responsible for individual and team results, and must be an experienced people manager with the ability to multitask, communicate effectively with others, and assist the leadership team in motivating and inspiring the budtenders to provide exceptional customer service to dispensary customers within a dynamic and fast paced retail environment. This is a salaried, exempt, full time position.
Essential Functions:
- Assisting the leadership team in directly supervising dispensary floor staff, including all supervisors, front of house (FOH) retail associates, back of house (BOH) inventory associates, and curbside retail associates;
- Assisting the leadership team in ensuring that the performance and profitability goals are being met
- Train staff on how to drive sales through consistent development of product knowledge and customer service standards
- Ensure compliance to policies and procedures and report concerns to senior management and or provide in the moment coaching
- Assist in providing or strategically delegating one-on-one education and training to all staff working within the operation;
- Ensure the consistent execution of companies marketing and visual presentation
- Assisting the leadership team in leading a performance management process to measure and evaluate operational systems and job performance;
- Providing strong day-to-day leadership within the operation;
- Filling the ATM machine and cash counting tasks
- Distributes checks on pay day
- Uses discretion to approve overtime as needed
- Assist the General Manager with disciplinary actions and terminations as needed
- Utilizing situational awareness in identifying critical needs and communicating those needs for immediate resolution;
- Providing effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and services;
- Managing and cultivating existing relationships with customers while endeavoring to seek new ways of finding new customers;
- Assisting the leadership team in the creation of staffing schedules and interviewing
- Other retail, sales or management duties as assigned and trained
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints
- Collaborate with team leads on setting and achieving specific goals
- Review staff performance and offer constructive feedback
- Assisting the leadership team with employee performance appraisals
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or the equivalent in work experience
- Minimum 2 years as a Budtender and/or Retail Supervisor experience
- Prior experience operating a cash register, resolving employee disputes, scheduling, and resolving customer complaints
