SUMMARY: Provide maintenance assistance to the FFC facility and to the plant in preventative, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping and electrical systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform various types of hands-on jobs as assigned by the engineer.
• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment ensuring safety and an orderly condition.
• Serves as member of committees or Continuous Quality Improvement teams as requested.
• Keeps grounds in good condition and free of litter and foreign objects on a daily basis.
• Secures all tools, equipment and supplies in the designated shop areas.
• Maintains company vehicles in good mechanical and safe operating condition.
• Assists in setting up and dismantling special event equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Must have strong mechanical skills and be able to work with all types of hand and power tools. Able to read and understand technical drawings and accurately translate the information into product related dimensions. Works well with little or no supervision. Follows verbal and written direction tempered with self-initiative and self-thinking. A team player that works well with fellow employees. Ability to adjust hours as necessary to meet deadlines. Ability to enter and work successfully in confined spaces. Ability to qualify for forklift license. Knowledge of, and willingness to follow, the proper use of personal protective equipment.

JOB ABILITIES: Ability to read and understand English. Ability to pass on-the-job training requirements. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, EGISTRATIONS: A valid driver’s license is required to drive Company, Customer and Rental vehicles and equipment.
