Position Overview:

The CATCH Trainer works to implement the CATCH Kids Club training program and technical assistance at various locations throughout the community. “CATCH Kids Club (CKC) is a nutrition education and physical activity program designed for elementary and middle school-aged children (grades K – 8) in an after-school or summer setting. CKC is composed of nutrition education (including snack activities) and physical activities to encourage active living & healthy eating. The CKC health program for kids offers an easy-to-use format that both children and staff enjoy and is easy to implement.” The CATCH Trainer Instructor will provide CKC program training sessions to Maximizing out of School Time (MOST) afterschool practitioners within Broward County in partnership with Children Services Council of Broward during weekends and other non-school hours.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to working toward this vision using education, advocacy, and wellness mindset. This position is key to maintaining quality execution of the CATCH Kids Club Program activities ensuring they are delivered in a manner that supports the mission and vision of FLIPANY.

This position requires a highly motivated person whose proven experience as a trainer or teacher in an educational setting. This individual provides outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, exceptional abilities to inspire and engage participants. The position requires a candidate who can provide clear instructions and explanations to ensure participants understand and retain the knowledge being taught. Additionally exhibits strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prepare and deliver training programs; ability to adapt to various learning styles and adjust instructional techniques accordingly. This individual has a passion for teaching and successfully address any questions or challenges that may arise during their training sessions.

Locations:

Broward County elementary and middle schools

Hours:

• Afterschool hours and weekends available
• 8 hours per week / 14 hours per training
• Up to 15 trainings per year

CATCH Trainer Instructor Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Motivate, encourage, and inspire participants to maximize their learning potential and achieve their goals.
• Deliver training sessions with exceptional teaching skills, ensuring participants understand and retain the knowledge being imparted.
• Administer, collect, organize, and upload survey responses and other relevant data in a systematic and secure manner.
• Collaborate with fellow trainers/supervisor to develop innovative teaching techniques and strategies to improve the effectiveness of educational programs.
• Continuously assess the progress and development of participants, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Uphold professional standards and ethics while representing our organization to participants, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Connect with Program Manager and Senior Program Manager and FLIPANY's media and communications team to help conduct community outreach campaigns.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2-3 years’ work experience

• Valid CATCH Trainer Certificate or Recertification
• Dedicated individual desiring to serve others and work with people

• Must have a valid FL Driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass DCF Level 2 background screening
• The ability to sit and stand at length, to move food crates and boxes weighing at least 50 pounds, to load and unload delivery trucks, drive to and from pick-up sites, and perform physically-intensive work.

• Knowledge and ability to move heavy items safely.
