The Role:

Flexjet is on a mission to redefine the aviation industry through meaningful and user-centered technology, and we are in search of a Product Designer & Researcher ready to join this challenge. The ideal candidate has experience as a usability practitioner conducting user research, which includes developing user personas and facilitating field studies and contextual inquiries. What You’ll Do

• Cross-functional Teamwork: Partner with stakeholders, product managers, end users, and engineers to design web-based platforms from ideation to production.
• User-Centered Design: Support the execution of user research methodologies and activities. Summarizing qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurring themes and promote data-driven design decisions.
• Advocate for User Needs: Invest in building trust with our end users by assisting in gathering and incorporating user feedback and usability testing results into the product design iterative process.
• Design & Rapid Prototype: Translate end-user insights to design solutions that are delightful and align with business objectives.
• Communicate and Present: Contribute to the clear communication of design decisions, research outcomes, and discoveries, fostering transparency and ensuring alignment within the team, stakeholders, and business leaders.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent professional experience as a usability practitioner.
• Experience with user-centered design research methodologies and rapid ideation processes such as Lean XD, Design Sprints and Agile methodologies.
• Strong portfolio featuring real-world examples of relevant work with a strong design sensibility. Evidence of applied user research techniques is necessary.
• 5 years of experience in relevant roles.
• 5 years of experience with design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, and Adobe CC
• Strong strategic insight skills. Understands what problem the team is trying to solve and can align user research activities to inform decision-making and action.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and synthesize complex systems.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Comprehensive understanding of back-end development focusing on databases, logic, application programing interfaces (APIs), and architecture.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively present complex designs clearly, articulate design decisions and bring clarity to stakeholders and team members.
• Deliver polished and well documented designs to our engineering teams with exceptional attention to detail.
• Exhibits well-developed interpersonal skills that promote and foster a team culture.
• An entrepreneurial mentality that is comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive a vision to fruition.
• Prior experience in Aviation, Transportation, Maintenance, and Supply Chain Management Industries.
