Overview

As a Senior Project Director, you will oversee preconstruction, project start up, active construction and client relationships on complex and/or mega projects across Flatiron's Water Group nationally. 

What you will be doing

• Lead and provide technical expertise to project pursuits, assessing initial project contract and working with owner to resolve specification, contract conflict and any potential scheduling issues.
• Engage with all project stakeholders proactively, including managing partners, ExCo Boards, federal authorities and regulatory bodies that may have influence over project success.
• From a senior leadership standpoint, oversee all aspects of projects, including construction, budget and cash management to ensure compliance with the project contract and owner needs.
• Provide guidance, where necessary, on project schedule and procedures, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production. Works with external managing partnership and JVs to develop one unified project plan. 
• Develop and manage the project organizational chart and Company/JV staff assignments for each phase of production, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of project objectives.
• Provide guidance to construction management team in identifying project risk and negotiating change orders with owner, ensuring efficient and effective project production.
• Take a leadership role in the resolution of disputes with project owners where required.

What we are looking for

• 15 years’ experience in construction project management on water and waste water projects required.
• Experience working on Collaborative Delivery (CMGC, Progressive Design Build etc.) and Joint Venture construction projects required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills proven to engage and retain positive working relationships.
• Strong proven skill to identify, track and manage project risk.
• Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple departments and direct reports to retain focus on one project completion goal and timeline.
• Proven ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel and developed to coach and mentor project personnel.
• Proven knowledge and ability to analyze and interpret financial documentation to identify and mitigate project risk.
• Effective delegation skills to drive efficient, accurate and profitable project completion.
