We are looking to hire a Junior Cost Accountantin the city of South Gate, CA. This is a contract to hire opportunity to join our Accounting department.
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $30-35/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. As a Junior Cost Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of our cost accounting processes and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze manufacturing and production costs to identify variances and discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and analyses to provide management with insights into cost drivers and trends.
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Extensive experience with SAP - this is most important so this person can hit the ground running.
- GL Analysis
- Job costing experience
- Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
- Take part in performing the month end close and producing journal entries under minimal supervision
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills .
- Experience in configuring and utilizing SAP ERP system for cost accounting, inventory management, and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
