FK Instrument Co, LLC is Hiring a Manufacturing Quality Technician Near Clearwater, FL

The Manufacturing Quality Technician is solely responsible for performing in-process inspections on parts throughout the shop floor at various stages of production. We rely on these in-process inspections to achieve optimal cost-efficiency and effectiveness, as you will ensure quality parts and catch issues early on. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and industry standards and specifications utilizing a variety of measuring devices. This position is a vital part of the manufacturing process and is a great opportunity for a seasoned machinist with strong inspection skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Checking visual and dimensional quality on all in-process parts at various stages of production as assigned and at random selection.
  • Record data using applicable quality management system forms and software.
  • Uses various measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, and Fowler and Tesa gauging.
  • Interpret drawings and GD&T for proper, efficient application.
  • Document and effectively communicate nonconformities for disposition.
  • Segregating and appropriately identifying product that fails to meet production and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to enforce quality standards and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with an ability to execute good record keeping practices
  • Knowledge and usage of applicable measurement equipment, including micrometers, height gauges, surface plate / indicators, gauge blocks / pins, thread plus / ring gauges, optical comparators, profilometers
  • Must be flexible and able to work with a variety of different people and in different areas depending on business need
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
