About the Role

Fivetran's documentation receives rave reviews from our customers - it is a core part of our product. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Communications Director to lead our documentation team. As the Technical Communications Director, you will manage and empower a globally-distributed team of documentation experts and technical writers to produce world-class documentation and UI copy that helps our customers succeed.
What You'll Do

• Enthusiastically champion great technical writing throughout Fivetran
• Be the owner of technical terminology across all of Fivetran
• Represent the Technical Communications Team in company-wide meetings and presentations, and as an evangelist with leaders and executives at Fivetran
• Grow and nurture our global and cross-functional Technical Communications team
• Lead the documentation strategy & vision, prioritizing initiatives to drive outcomes
• Lead process and automation improvements

Skills We're Looking For

• 8-10 years previous technical writing experience for ETL/ELT SaaS product
• Experience leading and managing a globally-distributed documentation team
• Strong understanding of SaaS concepts, cloud computing, APIs, and web technologies
• Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence, Jira, Git, Markdown, etc
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation for different audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• A collaborative and proactive mindset with a passion for improving the user experience through effective documentation

$180,400-$225,500 USD
