POSITION: CL Assistant - Development Program

COMPENSATION: $17 to $22 per hour

VISION OF THE ROLE:

Commercial Lines Assistants are integral members of the Fitts Insurance Commercial Lines team - they work with Account Managers and other team members to give clients personalized attention. CL Assistants handle day-to-day client service requests while collaborating closely with the team on yearly insurance renewals. As a member of a closely-knit team, CL Assistants are given increasing responsibility while supported and encouraged to develop their careers at Fitts.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:

Mastering use of the agency management system

- Support high client retention and satisfaction

- Foster and maintain strong relationships between insurance carriers and clients.

- Work towards and achieve the role of Commercial Lines Account Manager

MAJOR ACTIONS OR INITIATIVES:

- Obtain a Massachusetts insurance license, with training and support provided by Fitts Insurance.

- Participate in training sessions to learn detailed client service processes and insurance solution preparations.

- Assist in the yearly renewal process

- Demonstrate a commitment to cultivating trust in Fitts Insurance Agency by assisting in resolving client concerns promptly and courteously.

- Support initiatives in identifying cross-selling opportunities and generating new business through client interactions and referrals.

- Begin developing the skills to audit insurance programs and understand carrier underwriting guidelines through shadowing and guided practice.

DAILY ROUTINES:

- Communicate with clients throughout the yearly renewal process

- Handle day to day service requests

- Respond promptly to the requests and needs of the client, producer, and carriers

- Assist in the preparation for client reviews and proposals with high attention to detail

- Adhere to agency standards to protect confidential information

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Willing to obtain a Massachusetts commercial insurance license paid for by the employer

- 3 years of client-facing customer service or administrative experience
