We Require
Three years of experience operating heavy equipment and trucks
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a medical card issued by the State of Arizona
Maricopa County is required by state and federal regulations to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial driver's license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety but may not specifically require a valid CDL

Experience operating motor graders, backhoes, frontend loaders, and other various types of equipment
Job Contributions
Operate a variety of medium to large-sized construction and maintenance equipment/vehicles in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
Build up and repair dirt roads and shoulders and plating
Perform heavy manual labor assignments as needed and assist crews as required
Perform pre/post trip cleans, services, and minor maintenance repairs on equipment/vehicles
Identify and report mechanical problems requiring additional repair
Complete daily job logs and prepares reports; enter information in the asset management system (Cartegraph). Attend safety meetings and other required meetings and mandatory training
Hauls materials, and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks and transporters
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly or requires walking or standing to a significant degree
Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards and noise and vibration
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor, ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
