Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating pediatric patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This is a 1099 contract position open for the summer (May 20-August 10, 2024). Ideally, we are looking for a public school SLP who is looking to earn extra money over the summer. We are a small private practice and provide therapy services at a variety of daycares and schools in the Mt. Juliet/Hermitage area. This job will require some travel.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results
- Provide therapy sessions to patients to improve speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication skills and manage swallowing difficulties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology
Skills:
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology related to speech, language, communication, and swallowing
- Excellent client care skills with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships
- Strong assessment skills to accurately evaluate patients' speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid Tennessee licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is required
