Do You Love Music?

If you love music and are an energetic person with experience conducting and getting people excited about making music, we would like you to apply for our part-time position of Music Director at First United Methodist Church of Redondo Beach.

The Ideal Candidate would love to:

• Coordinate, oversee and support the music ministry at FUMCRB, collaborating with the church accompanist and minister to plan weekly worship services and special events.

• Select theologically connected, diverse choral, congregational and instrumental music, including handbell choir if possible, and conduct Chancel Choir at weekly Sunday worship service.

• Lead the choir and other ensembles in special seasonal services. Easter and Christmas are our busiest seasons.

• Have a knowledge of a broad range of sacred music, both classical and contemporary, with at least 2-5 years experience in choral conducting.

• Recruit and support visiting soloists and develop musical teams and ensembles of all ages for worship and special events as needed.
