First Point Power, LLC is Hiring a Billing Analyst Near Cranston, RI

First Point Power is a Retail Electricity Supplier based in Cranston, Rhode Island, 10 minutes south of Providence. The company supplies electricity in deregulated energy markets throughout New England and has been recognized as the #5 Fastest Growing Energy Company in the United States by Inc. We are seeking a self-driven individual with strong interpersonal and analytical skills to join our finance team. This role is responsible for billing validations, exception reporting, and communication with Utility Supplier Service Groups. In addition, this role will cross train as backup for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and associated activities. These activities require cross functional collaboration with team members in the IT, operations, and compliance areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Billing Validations / Exception Reporting / Action / Follow Up
  • Verbal and written communication with Supplier Services Groups
  • Manage Tax Exemption Certificates – follow up and request as necessitates.
  • Identify, escalate when appropriate and resolve root causes of issues which may prevent or delay billing or payment.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance systems and reports to the Controller and work with team as appropriate to implement updates.
  • Inbound Phone Calls Overflow
  • Maintain customer records and process changes internally or submit to Supplier Services Group
  • Backup Accounts Payable entering invoices and performing weekly check run when needed.
  • Backup Accounts Receivable on Collections, Check Processing and cash applications when needed.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Ability and desire to provide industry-leading customer support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven, self-motivated polished professional.
  • Proficient ability with Microsoft applications (advanced Excel and Word)
