First Mode is Hiring a People Operations Generalist Near Seattle, WA

The People Operations Generalist will join the People team in working with employees across the business to ensure First Mode is an exceptional place to work. You will support a vast array of People Operations initiatives including employee onboarding, off-boarding, job changes, benefits administration, People Ops processes and policies, and additional People projects as they arise. The ideal candidate is a professional and energetic team player who ensures that the People Operations function smoothly and efficiently. You are detail-oriented, resourceful, curious to learn, and excited to proactively seek out ways to help and improve the team. You are passionate about providing an exceptional employee experience throughout all phases of the employee lifecycle.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for key employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, benefits administration, conversions, organizational and compensation changes, and offboarding
  • Coordinate employee onboarding programming such as new hire orientation, I-9 verification, welcome meetings, and other related informational sessions
  • Act as HRIS administrator and maintain people data across internal systems to ensure 100% data integrity
  • Act as first line of support and triage for employee questions
  • Assist with reporting and analytics related to people metrics
  • Assist with paid time off policy and leave administration
  • Provide administrative and project support during the development of new People initiatives
  • Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the employee experience and partner with the HR team to develop and implement innovative and scalable solutions
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all employee information

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in a Human Resources/People Operations role
  • Experience being privy to highly confidential and sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Washington state employment laws and regulatory requirements (other states & countries a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build strong relationships to establish and maintain credibility, trust, and confidence with team
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in an environment with multiple ongoing projects 
  • Proficient with HRIS and ATS systems (BambooHR and/or Greenhouse, a plus)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, and other related software
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment

Location

  • This position is a part time role and will be located at First Mode’s headquarters in Seattle, WA and will be required to work in office 60% of the time

Total Rewards

Base Salary Range: $91,800-$109,500
