First Mid Bank & Trust is Hiring a Liability Support Specialist II Near Mattoon, IL

The Liability Support Specialist II is responsible for the processing of levies, citations, garnishments, and subpoenas bank-wide. This area is also responsible for the escheatment process, transmittals for tax payments for the institution as well as the overall tax form creation and/or corrections.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Processes levies, citations, garnishments, and subpoenas adhering to the regulated time frame allowed.
Represents the company in court appearances associated with subpoenas, search warrants, etc.
Responsible for tax reporting. (1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1099-C)
Responsible for the transmittals for tax payments.
Maintains bank records regarding the escheatment process for all transactional accounts including SDB and submits the annual reports to multiple state agencies.
Identify and mitigate tax risks.
Ensures various general ledger and internal accounts are balanced and resolves any problems. Maintains documentation for reconciling items.
Review ATM and Mobile Deposits, including holds as needed.
Backup for Overdraft Services and Quality Assurance as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business, finance, or related field preferred
3 years of banking, customer service, or related experience.

Skills:

Must be able to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to gain adequate knowledge of both internal policies and procedures.
Knowledgeable in policies and procedures under respective state and federal laws and regulations governing departmental functions to ensure performance of individual job duties within the proper control environment.
