Position Name: Credit Analyst
Supervisor: Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Status: Full-Time, onsite in office
Location: Dover Financial Education Center, Dover, OH 44622
Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am – 5 pm
JOB SUMMARY:

As a vital member of the Loan Team, you provide necessary data to determine loan eligibility. You work hand in hand with loan officers to ensure all loan requests have the necessary documentation to proceed to closing based on company policy. You independently and critically analyze the credit worthiness of loans based upon financial data provided both for new requests and annual credit reviews.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works with commercial lenders to provide necessary data to determine eligibility.
  • Analyzes loan data on new, renewal and existing loans,
    • Evaluates financial records to evaluate if the borrower is a safe investment.
    • Obtains information provided by credit bureaus. 
    • Draws up a write-up report about the degree of risk.
    • Runs financial data and ratios. 
    • Reviews appraisals
  • Assists in preparing Excel spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and opinions for financial institution officers on new, renewal and existing loans.
  • Assists in overseeing financial information files to assure current reports, financial statements, accounts receivable and other information on customer accounts.
  • Establishes, reviews and updates new and existing loan files for the financial institution on a regular basis.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance to loan officers as needed.
  • Tracks loan exceptions
  • Effectively utilizes Learning & Development tools and resources.
  • Understands the importance of and follows bank policies and procedures.
  • Handles confidential information and documents to ensure customer privacy.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, attention to detail, punctuality and preparedness.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
  • Adheres to high ethical standards and complies with industry regulations/applicable laws.
  • Demonstrates an ability to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines with enthusiasm.

  • Performs other various duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree finance or accounting preferred and/or one to two years of experience in a financial institution or loan office setting.
  • Strong financial, detail and analytical abilities
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
