Position: Accountant
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day accounting duties and monthly financial close for one or more joint venture mortgage affiliates.
- Responsible for various internal and external reporting and general duties as assigned.
- Cash and line of credit account reconciliations.
- Processing of accounts payable invoices.
- Processing and recording deposits.
- Funding entries for monthly production activity.
- Recurring monthly journal entries for accruals, depreciation, and amortization of prepaid expenses.
- Processes and records sale of closed loans to investors.
- Reporting of daily cash position and line of credit utilization.
- Line of credit renewal applications.
- Compilation of financial statements for management review.
- Assist CFO with auditor and tax preparer information requests.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
- CPA Eligible or progress towards CPA license strongly preferred
- 0-5 Years Public Accounting Experience in audit or financial statement preparation strongly preferred
- Intermediate Excel skills required, including familiarity with functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, tables, linked workbooks and other functions utilized to sort/filter and summarize data.
