Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. You will work closely with the dentist to ensure a smooth and efficient dental practice. This is a part-time position working Fridays and Saturdays. There is oportunity for transition to full-time position with full benefits.

Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment room, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist.
- Take digital dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and record patient information in patient charts.
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, including suctioning, retracting tissues, and applying topical anesthetic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Assist with dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, collection and answering phone calls.
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Take and record vital signs of patients as required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Some computer skills is a plus
- Previous experience as a dental assistant is a plus
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and practices
- Ability to take accurate dental x-rays
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
