The Firestone Family began farming in the Vancouver, WA, in 1896. We are a fully integrated grower processing operation for domestic and export fruit customers. Our fruit is harvested at the peak of ripeness, processed in our state-of-the art facility, and packed for shipment, ensuring quality in every product from the farm where it was grown to the finished bag in the consumer’s freezer.

Position Summary

Responsible for supplying the production area with produce as requested, responsible for loading and unloading trucks, entering inventory information into our computer system, cycle counts, loading shipping containers.

Responsibilities: 

• Use hand scanner and computer input to maintain accurate inventory for start of the load and finish of the load. Able to document cycle counts correctly
• Keep a clean and organized work area (freezers, coolers, anything on a pallet, trailers)
• Unload and load trailers. Both enclosed and flatbed.
• Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance on forklift
• Report all repair needs to maintenance staff
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Follow GMP Food Safety Procedures & Policies
• Sort and track pallet condition, preventing damage when possible

Essential Job Functions: 

• Must have at least two years of previous forklift experience (stand up and sit down
• Ability to read and understand product labels. Must be able to read and write English
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate a fork lift for a 12-hour shift.
• Ability to trouble shoot and repair various equipment in a safe and timely matter.
• Must be vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated - COVID-19 (. Individuals with medical issues or religious beliefs or practices that prevent them from getting vaccine may request an exemption from the vaccine requirement)

Working Conditions/Physical Factors: 

• Worker may be exposed to temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. More extreme temperatures possible during summer months.
• Worker may be exposed to extreme cold, wet conditions, indoors and outdoors.
• Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
• Worker may be exposed to hazards in the work place such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, fumes or airborne particles and electrical current.
• Must be able to work in environment containing allergens
• Frequently required to use hands and fingers and can climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
• Must be able to talk/hear/sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasionally required to lift/push light weights up to 50 pounds.
