- POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Scrub Technician participates as a team member in the planning and implementation of nursing care for each patient. She/He will demonstrate an ability to work with the medical, nursing, and ancillary services to provide safe patient care. The Scrub Tech demonstrates a professional, courteous manner, and handles confidential information with discretion for the patient and their family.

- QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION:
- Minimum:
- Completion of Surgical Tech Program or Evidence of NYS Dept of Health Exemption (1 year cumulative experience between January 1, 2011-January 1, 2015) or Active NYS LPN license.

- Completion of Surgical Tech Program

- PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
- Minimum:
- BLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
- Certification as Surgical Technologist (required for Surgical Tech Program Graduates without the Evidence of Exemption) or Current NYS Licensed Practical Nurse
- CPI

- WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum:
- One year of experience in the healthcare field, or completion of scrub tech training program with a evidence of application for Surgical Tech Certification.

- Scrub tech experience.

- Demonstrates ability to provide quality patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner.
