The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality, reliable, and cost effective designs that meet both the customer needs as well as Multisorb’s standard design practices. This position views and provides custom solutions as well as maintains support for existing equipment in the field. The Engineer manages the complete mechanical build, including bills of material, details drawings for manufacture, and assembly prints. He or she supports all of the Equipment Systems Group as needed from a mechanical design role.

Responsibilities

About the Role: 

• Lead the design of all new machinery.
• Recommend improvements and modifications of new and existing machines and assembly methods.
• Support the generation of installation, operation, and service manuals.
• Establish preventative maintenance, repair procedures, and spare parts requirements on all machinery and monitor results.
• Lead the design, component selection, fabrication, and testing of all machinery intended for export, including CE marked machinery.
• Facilitate UL or other regulatory approval marks for machinery requiring such approvals.
• Support completion of all necessary documentation for machines (i.e. CAD assembly drawings, spare parts list, costed bill of materials, etc.).
• Lead the design, component selection, fabrication, and testing of low cost design.
• Prevents defects and possible defects in workmanship.
• Sets mechanical standards for ESG Electromechanical group.
• Support sales as needed.
• Manage and take ownership of all engineering change orders and equipment upgrades.
• Participate in in preparing budgets and proposals for capital equipment, additions, replacements, and improvements.
• Implement and monitor project schedules and subcontractors/suppliers to ensure delivery commitments are satisfied.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience: 

• 3-5 years of mechanical engineer experience.
• Machinable automation design experience.
• Experience with Solidworks for 3D modeling, Autodesk Inventer, and AutoCAD.
• Electrical experience desired, but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with hand tools/power tools.
• While other machines and tools are not used in this position, prior experience will serve to benefit the person in this role.
