Film at Lincoln Center Inc is Hiring a Coordinator, Digital Production Near New York, NY

Description

Reporting to the Managing Editor of Film Comment, the Digital Production Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day production of Film Comment’s digital publications and assets.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Manage production needs and assist with prep and research for all Film Comment digital platforms and initiatives:

- Website

- Weekly Newsletter

- Weekly Podcast

- Digital Archive

- Social Media Channels

- Talks and Events

  • Manage flow of copy, image, audio, advertising, and other media assets for Film Comment’s digital platforms, and maintain production plans and schedules.
  • Fact-check, proofread, copy edit, and write original web and social media copy per Film Comment’s house style and journalistic standards.
  • Liaise between the Film Comment team and the Marketing and Communications, Partnerships, and Philanthropy teams at Film at Lincoln Center.
  • Administer contributor agreements, process invoices, manage subscriber database, and fulfill orders for back issues.
  • Assist in the production of FLC’s Critic’s Academy.
  • Assist in the digitizing of Film Comment print issues and database, and reviewing historic writer and photo contracts.
  • Participate in editorial meetings and contribute to Film Comment as opportunities arise.
  • Assist as needed on ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED 

  • Proven ability to work independently under deadlines, take initiative, anticipate challenges, and solve problems. 
  • Proficiency in image and audio editing software, such as Photoshop and Audition. 
  • Proficiency in HTML, WordPress, and other content management systems, and familiarity with emerging technologies or willingness to learn. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced editorial environment, and a nuanced critical perspective and understanding of journalistic ethics. 
  • Knowledgeable about film history and contemporary cinema, and familiar with the missions of Film Comment and Film at Lincoln Center. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to be effective in a dynamic environment. 
  • Ease with collaboration. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail. 

SALARY DESCRIPTION

This position has a salary range of $60,000-$65,000/year and is represented by the union UAW 2110. 

HIRING PROCESS

Please submit your resume and a short cover letter by February 16, 2024. The cover letter should be 300-400 words (please stick to this limit) and demonstrate why you would be a good fit for Film Comment, describe your interest in the publication, and highlight any other relevant experience beyond what is listed on your resume. Initial conversations with the HR team will take place as applications come in until February 23. Candidates selected for the next round will meet with the editors and members of the Marketing team between February 26 and March 15. Finalists may be asked to participate in an editorial exercise demonstrating copywriting and/or editing skills. We plan for the hired candidate to begin in late March 2024.
