POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Memory Care helps create joyful and vibrant communities by providing exceptional leadership, overseeing and supervising specific operations and community staff and departments. By being available to staff, residents and families, the AED is able to keep a pulse on community culture and address concerns in a timely manner. The AED is responsible for assisting with communicating the vision of the organization and consistently demonstrating our Mission and Values.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Begins each day with the goal of inspiring a joyful and vibrant community. Look for creative ways of recognizing staff and elevating our Mission & Values.
  • Leads daily stand up meetings at community.
  • Leads monthly All Staff meetings.
  • Meets with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction and engagement. Oversees survey processes as directed.
  • Implements goals and objectives consistent with the overall policies and procedures of the company.
  • Assures that all State Regulations, corporate and community policies and procedures are followed.
  • Supervises and oversees all resident programs and projects operated under the auspices of the company as directed.
  • Confers with residents and other individuals, groups and outside agencies having interest or potential interest in the affairs of the community; explain policies and programs to the public as necessary.
  • Represents Fieldstone in community and professional meetings.
  • Selects, trains, mentors, and evaluates personnel; establishes and monitors employee performance objectives, prepares and presents employee performance reviews, provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline and termination procedures. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and involved in the termination process; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Obtains bids/contracts for projects, services, programs consistent with the needs of the community; oversee performance of contractors as requested.
  • Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays Current on all system assigned tasks and duties.
  • Participates as a member of Standards Committee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supervises, oversees and monitors Memory Care departments and programs. Communicates issues with the ED to make final decisions on performance and outcomes.
  • Ensures efficient organization and management systems are operating at optimum level.
  • Understands existing budget, vendor, and contractual relationships, reasons for current commitments; requests changes to any of the above relationships for approval.
  • Complies with annual budget parameters; forecast when additional funds may be needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement mid-year adjustments.
  • Hosts monthly town hall meeting with residents and family members.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • At least 21 years old and has the ability to provide a qualifying administrator training program and has three years paid experience providing direct care to vulnerable adults OR managing persons providing this type of care. OR
  • Associate degree (or higher) in a related field (health, social work, business administration, etc.) AND has completed a qualifying administrator training program OR completes the program within six months of starting administrator duties
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Basic mathematic skills – ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret bar graphs.
  • Clear reasoning abilities; able to apply common sense and creative problem solving; reacts calmly and efficiently in emergencies.
  • Solid public speaking and communication skills.
  • Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
  • Resident care philosophy with a focus on providing the highest level of quality service and professional interaction.
  • Ensures a clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff & visitors.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
  • Able to understand and oversee staffing schedules.
  • Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
  • Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population.
  • Maintains First Aid Certification as required by State regulation.
  • Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.
  • Maintains current Food Handlers Card.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management
  • Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
  • Able to read and understand monthly financial statements and budget reconciliation reports.
