Fields Senior Living is Hiring an Activities Director Near Vacaville, CA

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Plan a program of activities for each month to meet the resident’s needs and interests through a variety of recreational, religious, intellectual, and communityactivities. Activities should embody daily activities involving all 7 dimensions of wellness.
  • Monthly calendars should be done in a professional manner, following company brand standards. There should be calendars for each level of care and they should be displayed and accessible throughout the community.
  • Ensure department supervisors are communicated with 2-6 weeks prior to an event to help assist with resident engagement, set up and breakdown needs and staff engagement.Use the monthly calendar of events to notify appropriate personnel of specificactivities, which will occur during the month.
  • Communicate to the dietary department a month prior for future food and beverage needs. Ensure appropriate form is filled out with necessary information.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and organized activity room.Contact maintenance andhousekeepingpersonnel whenrepairsand/or upkeepis needed.
  • Involve residents through an activities committee to help in activity programming. Working individually with resident to provide personal programs when needed.
  • Provide or conduct daily exercises at recommended times tailored to individualandgroupneeds.
  • Establish and maintain religious involvement through bible studies and pastoralinteraction(i.e.,church services,personalvisits,etc.)
  • Work individually with residents to provide personalized programs in crafts,recreation,and hobbies.
  • Coordinate and provide transportation (i.e., drive van or bus) to accommodateweeklyoutings for recreation,shopping,banking, anddoctor appointments.
  • Createmonthly decorationtocapturethefeeloftheseasonsandholidays.
  • Evaluate program content quarterly to determine areas where improvements can bemade.Confer withExecutive Director on areas ofchange.
  • Attend weekly special events meetings and communicate with appropriatedepartmentswhen planning events thatwill takeplacein thecommunity.
  • As a department head, teach and attend appropriate in-service meetings in thecommunity. Educate staff members on important of life enrichment in the resident’s lives.
  • Plan and conduct special events to celebrate resident birthdays, anniversaries,holidays,and other specialobservances.
  • Assess interests and needs of residents by working closely with residents and theirfamilies and using interest forms.
  • Provideandmaintainphotosofallspecialevents, share with social media owner within the community.
  • Maintain an activity attendance record to assist with the evaluation of theactivitiesprogram and to maximizeresidentparticipation.
  • Develop and maintain a resource file of instructors, entertainers, communityliaisons,tours, cultural events, sportingevents,etc.
  • Control the activities budget and utilize spend down to ensure expenses are in align with budget.
  • Establish the departments need for volunteers.Interview, orient, train, andsupervise activities volunteers and see that they receive recognition for their services.
  • Perform all other related duties as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Supervise, train and schedule activity assistant.

Additional Functions:

  • Must possess qualities of leadership, tact, and adaptability to change.
  • Must be neat in appearance, pleasant personality, be congenial to fellow team members, residents, families, and the public in general.
  • Must be capable of using own judgement and initiative in daily duties.
  • Must attend required in-services/ workshops to further education of skills andcommunityrequirements.
  • Always maintains confidentiality and privacy of our residents and staff
  • Must possess an upbeat, positive, flexible attitude and enthusiastic personality and able to communicate effectively with groups of people during large events.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
  • MustbeDrugfreeandsubmittoUrinaryAnalysisDrugscreeninguponhire.
  • Must be at least (21) years old.
  • Maintains current CPR and first aid certification.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret care plans.
  • Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations knowledge.
  • A passion for helping seniors, especially those living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
  • Prior activities coordination/supervision experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Able to work all shifts to ensure staffing coverage when needed.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record; insurable under the community policy for operations of community vehicle.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
  • The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living.

Physical Demands and Requirements:

  • Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.
  • Mustbewillingtobeactiveandonfeetduringentireworkshift.
  • Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items.
