Field of Talent is Hiring a Procurement specialist Near Irvine, CA

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7 : 30am - 4 : 00pm, overtime may be required. Hours may be flexible.

Established and growing Wireless Telecommunications Company with its headquarters located in Corona, CA is seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist.

The primary responsibility of the Procurement Specialist is to buy goods and services for all our construction and telecommunications projects, as well as, perform a variety of warehouse duties, including material handling, data entry, recordkeeping, and customer service tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the operations team.

The ideal candidate has previous purchasing, warehouse, and administrative experience in the construction industry. Must be an independent self-starter who is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle frequently changing priorities.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Responsibilities :

Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items;

obtaining approval from project management

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships to improve terms of cost, quality, delivery, and lead time
  • Prepare and submit detailed job costing reports to project managers as requested
  • Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Receive and enter into inventory any excess materials from completed projects
  • Track and maintain assets and equipment
  • Assists the Warehouse Manager with auditing the company's inventory and assets
  • Follow instructions for auditing inventory, including cycle counts, transfers, and warehouse balancing
  • Assist with occupational health and safety procedures
  • Schedule and drive to vendor sites to pickup or RMA materials
  • Tag, wrap and store materials onto racking using a forklift or reach truck as required
  • Provide warehouse backup as required

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of the construction industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of the logistics industry with 1-2 years experience preferred
  • Administrative skills with a minimum of 1-2 years experience
  • Must have a high level of computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to provide accurate entry of data and ability to handle administrative tasks as assigned
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to perform job tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Abide by Industry Safety Standards
  • Have a clean driving record and have a current personal auto insurance policy
  • Independent, self-starter with the ability to also work effectively in a team situation
  • Read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in stressful situations.
  • High-energy individual with a strong work ethic
  • Must have a flexible work schedule due to changing operational needs
  • Willingness to provide moderate housekeeping as needed
