The Team Our team builds a new cloud-native Digital Fraud Platform to enable the differentiated Fidelity customer experience and to reduce fraud, stay current with new paradigms for data sharing by Fidelity business units, and drive technology simplicity across the firm. We focus on delivering end-to-end cloud-native digital solutions where scalability, stability and security are our highest priority. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be applying your strong software development and test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Fidelity customer-facing software solutions. The Expertise You Have Expertise in designing and building large-scale highly available, resilient, secure, scalable, cloud-native (AWS, Azure, GCP) digital enterprise applications on micro-services, serverless and event-driven architectures using domain driven design and 12-factor patterns Cloud-native REST API development leveraging Java, Maven, Stash, Spring Boot and OpenAPI standards Experience with Angular web development is a plus Ownership of the entire secure SDLC, and extensive experience with DevOps CI/CD practices, TDD, BDD, automated security and quality testing using tools like RESTAssured/Cucumber/etc., modern test and mock frameworks and service virtualization tools like Wiremock to rapidly deliver, measure, and iterate features to customers while minimizing risk using practices like A/B tests, blue-green deployments, and feature toggles Demonstrated ability in influencing and partnering with architects, engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable robust application solutions A mindset of test-first development and a deep experience in creating unit and environment-agnostic integration and functional tests, working knowledge of modern test and mock frameworks and service virtualization tools. The Skills You Bring A proven foundation in software engineering – bachelor’s degree preferred, 7 years of experience Event Driven application design and development Expert knowledge of Java, Spring boot and Maven Strong focus on quality through the entire SDLC to reduce production interruptions Strong focus on observability, metrics and alerting using tools like Datadog/Splunk Strong background in distributed design patterns and critical thinking skills to design end-to-end solutions Staying ahead of the curve by aligning architecture, user experience, and security with chapters and COEs. Experience and comfort working in an agile environment (Scrum and Kanban) Excellent communication and influencing skills to facilitate collaboration across technology and business partners without having a direct authority over people Curious, motivated, can-do attitude, self-directed, proactive, and results oriented The Value You Deliver Developing, designing, and building architecture solutions on a cloud-native platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data. Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.
