Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other special needs
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including lifting and positioning individuals
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes or concerns to supervisors
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassion and empathy for individuals with special needs or health conditions
- Ability to lift heavy objects or individuals when necessary
- Knowledge of proper caregiving techniques, including infection control and safety precautions
