Job Summary

The Manager, Hedging Middle Office will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hedging operations and collateral management at F&G. This position will play a key role in managing the interconnectivity between multiple functional areas such as Hedging Strategy, Investment Strategy, Investment Accounting, IT, Treasury, and Financial Reporting. This position will execute the overall strategic direction of the Hedging Middle Office team and provide thought leadership on how the team can support the future hedging needs of the organization.

Organization

This position will report to the AVP, Middle Office and manage a team of at least two individuals. This position will operate with a high degree of autonomy and will require the ability to develop informal relationships to influence outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Hedging Middle Office team, including trade capture, confirmation, and settlement processes
  • Lead and manage the onboarding of a new collateral and trade confirmation platform
  • Collaborate with Investment and Hedging Strategy teams to operationalize new hedging products and strategies
  • Ownership of daily collateral management processes for the cleared and bilateral hedging portfolios
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, market trends, and regulatory developments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and other inquiries
  • Regularly review processes, systems, roles and responsibilities, and team structure in support of the changing needs of the business
  • Direct and develop a high performing team that embraces a dynamic, high growth performance culture
  • Provide Hedging Middle Office subject matter expertise in support of projects and corporate initiatives.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Economics or Accounting or related field
  • 7 years of experience in derivative operations and/or collateral management
  • 2 years' experience leading teams
  • Advanced knowledge with trade order management systems i.e. Bloomberg, Microsoft Office Suite and investment accounting systems i.e. PAM, Clearwater
  • Familiarity with insurance company operations preferred
  • CPA, CFA or MBA preferred
