Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Essential Duties:

• Promotes positive customer service culture which encourages quality patient outcomes

• Responsible for the preparation of food to be served and complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards

• Follow established food production programs and procedures

• Supports the Mission, Values, and Vision of Family Guidance Centers and the facility

• Prepare of food served using established production procedures and systems, implementing dietitian and physician instructions

• Set steam table; serve or ensure proper serving of food for tray line or dining room

• Store food properly and safely, marking date and item

• Carry out the master menu plan, adjusting for nutritionally equivalent substitutes, leftovers, and emergencies

• Notify consulting dietitian hot and cold food menu changes

• Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor

• Work cooperatively with other cooks in evaluating cafeteria leftovers and plans for use; labels, dates, and stores leftovers properly

• Consults production sheets for thawing and doing advance preparation when possible; completes and posts sign-up sheets daily

• Assists with the development and standardization of recipes, including creating new ways to present food attractively and nutritiously

• Plans cooking schedule in order to have food prepared on time, but not too far in advance; serves hot food attractively and efficiently

• Implements diet changes, prepares saved trays, and sack lunches

• Support help with stocking and prepping

Schedule: 40 hrs. per week; flexibility with schedule required

Education and/or Experience: At least two years of institutional food service experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation Certification required
